Blackwood Canyon Tasting by Gary Vaynerchuck

Not sure if it was mentioned someplace else, but Gary V. got ahold of some Blackwood Canyon Chardonnay and did a tasting on video blog.

Who's going to Taste Washington Spokane?

Taste Washington Spokane is coming up June 21 at the fabulous Davenport Hotel.

"TimInSpokane," a regular here on the Wine Knows forum, will be at the event. Who is going? Which wines are you most interested in trying?

Wine blending parties

I am interested in hosting a wine tasting party for about 25 people in Woodinville. I would love some information if you've attended or hosted one before. I'd like to have it at a winery, but some of the prices from the local wineries are quite high, although I have not exhausted all possibilities.

Kontos & Rotie

Last night I attended the Tacoma Wine Classic and two new wineries got a lot of comments: Kontos and Rotie. While my first impression is very positive, has anyone seen ratings on either yet? I know Rotie is in its first vintage and Kontos may be (though it's not entirely clear from their website). Both produce reds in the low to mid $30s, with whites a little cheaper. Any comments or experiences would be appreciated.

Wineries to visit in Woodinville and Columbia Valley

We are planning to visit family in Washington in a few months and would like to do 2-4 days of wine tasting. We will be leaving Bremerton and going east. What are the better wineries to visit. Not interested in wine tours but tasting what we may not be able to buy in Georgia or just some of the better wines overall.

Come tread on me!

Day 1 of 2

There is something about blazing the wine trail of Yakima Valley that stirs the interest of most of us wine lovers. Whether we fancy ourselves as a wine expert or a wine novice, there is always something to see and learn about when touring wine country. Did you know that only one bottle in six consumed in Washington was produced here? Many would think that the only wine country that needs exploring is the California Wine County. This just isn’t so! There are so many different wineries in the Northwest, that sometimes it can seem rather daunting when a person wants to explore it all. My husband and I decided that we would select a certain Northwest AVA each month and explore that AVA to its fullest. We will then feature the selected wineries on our website NORTHWESTWINEQUEST.COM (currently under construction). In doing so, we hope to share what we have learned about these small wineries with others.

Counoise

We were recently blessed by being invited to a private tasting of McCrea Cellars. McCrea is located in Ranier Washington. They claim to be Washington States premier Rhone varietal winery. Their wines are pricy but well worth the money for that special bottle. The wine makers claim to fame is that he wrote the cantina song for the orginal Star War's movie.
