Oldest vines?

I was talking with a friend about wine and how some winemakers are using some of the oldest vines to make their top reserves. Where are the oldest vines still being used? What varietals? It also came up during our conversation that some 100+ year old vines were found down by the Gorge. Are these being used to make wine?

19th Century Zin vines

Yes, there are some vines in the Columbia Gorge (OR side) that were planted in the late 1800s by a stone mason, and you can buy the wine from The Pines (http://thepinesvineyard.com/).

P.S. Is it just me, or is it difficult to post comments, especially on forum topics?
