Visiting Prosser

I'm going to be in Prosser on Friday night with my wife and another couple. Where's a nice place to eat? Or to stay at such a late date? (The B&Bs seem booked up.)

On Saturday, we're joining the Horse Heaven Hills Roundup.

Thanks!

Keith

tips from a local

Your best bets for a upscale dinner are definately Picazo 717 (on sixth street next to the ballet school) or the restaurant at Desert Wind Winery (right off exit #82). Pizzeria Venti (on Meade next to the Princess Theater) is also a really good bet for quasi urbane causal dining, they have a solid wine selection and a pretty snazzy interior. For something more group oriented and casual, El Caporal (corner of Meade and Sixth) has ultra friendly staff and a solid family vibe. Bern's has really good burgers is you want the novelty of eating in a very old fashioned bar.

As far as lodging, the Best western (just off exit #80) is easily the nicest non B&B option. Second choice would be "the barn" and a distant third the motel prosser. But there is one house in Prosser listed on the VRBO website (vacation rental by owner) which might be an option as well if it isn't booked. Cheers!

other lodging option

I know its too late for your weekend get away but it just occurred to me that Desert Wind has guest rooms and a spa or something. I haven't stayed there but it's probably listed on their website.

Picazo 717

Thanks for the tips!

We booked the Best Western (where we stayed 2 years ago). I was hoping there'd be something more interesting available.

For dinner, we're going with Picazo 717, a new restaurant in Prosser. When checking back on this forum thread I see somebody posted a review. Here it is: http://community.winepressnw.com/node/909

Cheers!
