The Wine Knows

Matt Loso, who founded his eponymous winery Matthews Cellars in 1993, is selling his interest in the Woodinville, Wash., operation to his financial partners.

Loso, reluctant to get into details because the sale is pending, plans to increase his consulting business, which he started in 2000.

Aryn Morell is now the head winemaker for Matthews, which has a well-earned reputation for top-end Bordeaux-style wines.

There is no word on whether the winery will retain Loso's name, but I have to think that is one of the brand's greatest commodities.
