RainForest Red a lush wine

Last night, I opened Lost Mountain Winery's 2004 RainForest Red, a Bordeaux-style blend of Cab, Merlot and Cab Franc. It went perfectly with the grilled flank steak I was preparing.

Lost Mountain was just one of 18 wineries in the state when it opened in 1981. After founder Romeo Conca passed away, his son Steve took over. Since then, Steve and Sue have focused on making great reds with low sulfites.

The RainForest Red is no exception. With 40% Cab, 40% Merlot and 20% Cab Franc, it's a fruit-driven wine with plenty of lushness, the perfect wine with grilled meats. The refreshingly restrained 13.4% alcohol means you can enjoy more than a glass.
