Self-serve wine tasting

If you've read about those self-serve wine-tasting machines but haven't yet seen one in action, check out our video below.

The Enomatic has been around for at least a couple of years and has been in action in various areas of the country. Now, it's in Oregon wine country.

John and Judi Stuart are nothing if not innovative. John, a former Las Vegas casino director, and Judi moved to a farm near Carlton, Ore., in the northern Willamette Valley to create Abbey Road Farm Bed & Breakfast. They built the B&B out of three grain silos.

Yes, I was skeptical, too. But I stayed there two years ago, and it was distinct and wonderful. The breakfast the next morning was memorable, and Abbey Road instantly went into my top 10 destinations in Northwest wine country.

Judi has gained regional fame for her goat cheeses, which run out far faster than she and her goats can make them.

Now, the couple have converted an old horse barn into AgriVino, a self-serve tasting bar using the Enomatic.

Check out our video, then put Abbey Road and AgriVino on your to-do list for this summer.

Self serve

Hmmm, looke interesting and I am sure there are a lot of people who welcome the education they get. But I have to say, part of the experience for me is the ambiance of the wineries themselves and the ability to have long conversations with the owners or tasting room staff. But I will definitely pass this information along to some people I know in Oregon.

My husband,Ed and myself had the pleasure of staying at the B&B last year. The experience was delightful. John had mentioned that he was planning a new aspect to the Abbey Road and AgriVino must of been the plans!

Congratulations to John and Judi for their AgriVino Wine Center at Abbey Road Farm. The technology of combining wine tasting by using the Enomatic is very interesting and I am glad that it is being shown in the Oregon Wine Country.
