Self-serve wine tastingIf you've read about those self-serve wine-tasting machines but haven't yet seen one in action, check out our video below. The Enomatic has been around for at least a couple of years and has been in action in various areas of the country. Now, it's in Oregon wine country. John and Judi Stuart are nothing if not innovative. John, a former Las Vegas casino director, and Judi moved to a farm near Carlton, Ore., in the northern Willamette Valley to create Abbey Road Farm Bed & Breakfast. They built the B&B out of three grain silos. Yes, I was skeptical, too. But I stayed there two years ago, and it was distinct and wonderful. The breakfast the next morning was memorable, and Abbey Road instantly went into my top 10 destinations in Northwest wine country. Judi has gained regional fame for her goat cheeses, which run out far faster than she and her goats can make them. Now, the couple have converted an old horse barn into AgriVino, a self-serve tasting bar using the Enomatic. Check out our video, then put Abbey Road and AgriVino on your to-do list for this summer.
