Ponzi Wine Bar marks 1st decade

The Ponzi Wine Bar in downtown Dundee, Ore., is celebrating its first decade of business.

The Ponzi family, pioneers in the Oregon wine industry, always have pushed forward with innovative ideas. In the 1980s, the Ponzis launched Oregon's oldest microbrewery, BridgePort. With the Ponzi Wine Bar, they decided to feature and pour Oregon wines other than their own, leading the national wine bar trend.

A year later, they opened the Dundee Bistro, a restaurant that has helped push forward Northwest wine country cuisine.

To celebrate the wine bar's 10th anniversary, the Ponzis are putting on winemaker dinners the last week of May. On Thursday, May 29, Andrew Rich will be featured, followed by Josh Bergstrom on May 30. Those interested in attending should call 503-554-1500. Cost is $75 per person.
