Taste future this weekend at Yakima Valley CCThe Yakima Valley Community College's teaching winery will be open this weekend during Spring Barrel Tasting. The first vintage by this new winemaking program bottled its first vintage last week and is excited to share it. The winery is in Grandview, Wash., and the wines are available commercially. The student-run winery has Viognier and Syrah from Coyote Canyon Vineyards, Gewurztraminer from Whiskey Canyon Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon from Aldercreek Vineyard and Mourvedre rosé from Two Coyote Vineyard. In recent years, I've tasted student-made efforts from Walla Walla Community College and South Seattle Community College. Both programs have been making delicious wines, and I look forward to trying those from Yakima Valley Community College.
