Do we have your favorite wine shop, wine bar in our database? We're busy working on giving our Web site an overhaul. Part of this will be a much easier-to-use searchable database of wine shops, wine clubs and wine bars. I have compiled a list of 161 wine shops, wine clubs and wine bars from Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and Idaho. I am inviting you to look over the list and let me know of any I'm missing. Here are the ground rules: -- The wine shops need to be in the Pacific Northwest. That means Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and Idaho. I'm happy to include western Montana in this (west of the Continental Divide). -- The wine clubs should be stand-alone entities, such as the Pacific Northwest Wine Club in Tigard, Ore. If a wine club is part of a wine shop, then it's covered as a wine shop. If it's part of a winery, that's covered in a separate database of wineries. -- I'm happy to include groceries. However, every grocery in at least Washington and Oregon has a wine department. Thus, I will entertain only those with on-site wine stewards. Yoke's Fresh Market in Eastern Washington and North Idaho is an excellent example of this, as is Whole Foods. I suppose the exception would be a grocery that has a superb selection of Northwest wines but not necessarily a wine steward. I've published the database on Google Docs.
