A rosé for Easter

This afternoon, we had two couples over for an Easter meal. As the various toddlers screamed through the house, the adults enjoyed a glazed ham, green bean casserole and freshly baked bread.

For me, ham means rosé. I haven't gotten around to drinking up all my '06 rosés, so I rooted around in the cellar and found a Joie Wines 2006 Rosé, a pink blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir.

The good folks at Joie are all about the harmony of food and wine, and this wine certainly was a hit at our Easter table, marrying well with the ham.

The more I drink wines from Joie, the more I am impressed. It might just be time for me to head north of the border to acquire some more bottles.

Easter

I've never heard of the Joie wines, it sounds like one worth trying. Can we get it in the states? We thoroughly enjoyed '06"Great Gams" from C.R. Sandidge in Chelan for our ham dinner. An all Pinot Noir rose, in Western OR. it could have passed for a very good Pinot Noir. Highly recommended.

Joie

Unfortunately, you have to cross the border to get Joie Wines. Definitely worth the journey, as are many B.C. producers.
