Dunham selling 10 acre vineyard

I see that Michael Dunham is selling 10 acres of planted vineyards. It's described as 10+ acres in Walla Walla for $750,000. Fully developed vineyard planted in 2000. Approximately 4.5 acres Cab Sauv, 4.5 acres Syrah, and 1.0 acres Cab Franc.

I wonder what that's about? I thought grapes were scarce. Got any more infomation on this? How about that price?

Frenchtown

I'm guessing this is the Frenchtown Vineyard in Lowden, but I'd need to check. The vineyard is near L'Ecole and also where Mike and Joanne Dunham owned a home (but sold in recent years). It seems I've seen a for-sale sign at this property off and on for at least a couple of years.

Dunham Cellars makes a Frenchtown Vineyard-designated Syrah that sells for about $75. I wonder if the sale would include a contract to Dunham for those grapes. $75,000 per acre is pretty steep, way higher than you could think about on Red Mountain. Viticulturally, Walla Walla is no sure bet, as it is more susceptible to winter kill than just about anywhere.

However, a huge chunk of Dunham's fruit comes from Lewis Vineyard, which is west of Red Mountain.
