'Pacific NW Wining/Dining' on NPR

Braiden Rex-Johnson was on National Public Radio this morning, talking about her new book, Pacific Northwest Wining & Dining.

Braiden, who is entering her eighth year as wine/food pairing columnist for Wine Press Northwest, spoke about the various regional cuisines she's encountered, first living in Pennsylvania, then Texas and now the Northwest for the past 18 years.

Braiden treads into slightly warmer waters when the interviewer asks her to compare the cooking styles of Portland vs. Seattle chefs, then dives right in when she mentions that an East Coast oyster is being grown on the West Coast - and tastes better out here.

You can listen to the segment online.

By the way, Braiden's book already is into its second printing, selling briskly since being released in mid-October. All the photography for her book was taken by Jackie Johnston, who also happens to shoot most of the photos and design the feature pages for Wine Press Northwest.
