A great pairing with sparkling wine

Sparkling wine is one of the most versatile food-pairing wines out there. It goes with seafood, shellfish, chicken, appetizers, desserts and more. But one of the finest pairings with sparkling wine also is one of the most unusual.

Peanut brittle.

I would not have expected that, either. Even when Bob Woehler, the dean of Northwest wine writers, told me about it, I didn't believe him. That was until I tried it while at a sparkling wine party at his house the Saturday before Christmas.
