Always Enjoyable Yakima Valley Wineries

When wine tasting in the Yakima Valley, there are two wineries one really should not miss. Wineglass Cellars (Zillah) and Windy Point (Wapato) not only produce a very nice array of quality wines but always make the tasting experience a true treat. The owners, who are also the wine makers, work in their own tasting rooms and are enthusiastic about talking about their products and making sure the visitor enjoys their experience. Unfortunately, as this area has grown, not all the wineries of the Valley provide positive customer service and some can be outright haughty.

Please treat yourself and partake in any food event either of these two engage in. We recently purchased a gourmet dinner at an auction that took place in Windy Point's gorgeous tasting room overlooking their vineyards. Owners Mike and Liz Stepniewski along with David and Linda Lowe (owners of Wineglass Cellars) prepared a multi-course meal to die for in Windy Point's full professional kitchen. Keep an eye on their web sites for special food/cooking events. You won't be disappointed!

touring Yakima Blog

I recently received this blog site:

While I realize the writer is from Seattle, the comment that the featured "winery" was in the middle of no where Yakima, when in fact he was in fabulous Benton City/Red Mountain, I wish I could let him know a bit more about Eastern Washington.

Our Two Favorite Wineries

Thanks for posting this. My husband and I travel through the Yakima Valley a few times a year to see family and the two wineries that are ALWAYS on our list are the two you mentioned. We consistently have a great experience at both wineries and truly love visiting them. We did have a chance once to attend a food/wine function at Windy Point with Mike and Liz-- really memorable!
