Vintage Walla Walla

Is anyone planning to attend Vintage Walla Walla this weekend? If so, how about sharing your experiences in real time via Twitter at #vintagewine.

This is always one of the best tasting events of the year -- the Vintage Pour on Friday features wines from 2002 or older. Word is that about 20 wineries are pouring this year.

The Pavilion Pour on Saturday includes about 60 or so wineries from the Valley, plus some incredible food pairings. It takes place on a creekside lawn in the Whitman campus.

All kinds of other special wine-related events are interspersed around the tastings -- silent auctions, special blending classes, winemaker dinners on Friday night and a street dance Saturday night. This year also includes three private, chauffeured tours for eight Saturday morning led by noted wine writers Paul Gregutt, Cole Danehower and Gary Werner.

The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance has more information at www.wallawallawine.com. If you're going, let the rest of us hear about it in real time on Twitter at #vintagewine. The Wine Alliance also is posting at http://twitter.com/WWVWAwine.
