The Wine Knows is written and maintained by Andy Perdue, editor-in-chief of Wine Press Northwest magazine.

The Wine Knows focuses on wines of Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and Idaho. Sometimes, this blog has breaking news related to the world of Northwest wine. Sometimes, it provides commentary about and links to other stories of interest. At times, it mentions food pairings or recipes. Occasionally, you'll learn about Andy's vineyard or his wife's strange dislike for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It's always about wine. And it's always about the Northwest.

Andy Perdue has run Wine Press Northwest since its launch in April 1998. He is the author of The Northwest Wine Guide: A Buyer's Handbook (Sasquatch Books, 2003) and writes columns for Seattle Homes & Lifestyles and Vineyard & Winery Management magazines.

He writes a weekly wine column that is distributed online and produces a weekly wine video show, available via the iTunes Music Store.

He judges such wine competitions as: L.A. County Fair Wines of the World, Riverside International Wine Competition, Grand Harvest Awards, Long Beach Grand Cru, Washington State Wine Competition, Okanagan Fall Wine Festival Competition, Oregon State Fair, Dallas Morning News Wine Competition and others.
